Jobs it does
Category: Agent Infrastructure Pricing tier: Freemium Last tested: Jun 5, 2026
LangSmith is LangChain’s platform for debugging, evaluating, monitoring, and improving LLM applications and agents. If you are building with LangChain or LangGraph, it is the natural place to see traces, run evals, collect human feedback, and watch a deployed agent over time.
For a technical solo founder, the best use case is turning messy agent behavior into inspectable runs. You can start on the free Developer plan, capture traces from real workflows, build a small eval set, and stop guessing whether a prompt or model swap made the product better.
The caveat is ecosystem fit and cost. LangSmith is strongest when your stack already speaks LangChain, and usage-based traces can grow quickly once an agent has long sessions or many tool calls. If you are shipping a LangGraph agent, it is a top shortlist pick. If you are building outside that ecosystem and want open-source-first control, compare Langfuse or Phoenix too.
